Topic: How to run programs on Ti-nspire?  (Read 22972 times)

So I have the Ti-nspire (not CAX or whatever) and I accept downloaded the TI-Nspire Computer Link software and have put programs on the calculator. I can open them from the My Documents part, the .tns programs are in the MyLib folder, merely now how practise I run them? I downloaded my programs from this page: http://world wide web.ticalc.org/pub/nspire/basic/m… ; every fourth dimension I attempt to use them, the calculator says that the role beingness used is not defined.  I accept already refreshed my library also. If you could aid me out, that would be great, cheers.

Which plan specifically?

how about the most important 1: cmplxanlys.zip ; considering equally far every bit I know, the TI-nspire cannot do laplace and changed laplace: http://www.ticalc.org/pub/nspire/basic/math/
it says that it'southward for the CAS, but I have the regular version; should this matter?

Yeah, matters, considering the cas has functions that the non cas does non, and thus the non cas will say that the role being used is not defined

OK, thanks, but I tin't seem to get any programs to run on it.  Surely some of them were written for just the TI -nspire when the CAS and CX had not come out yet.  I think I am missing some simple steps here.  To run a .tns file, you lot click on Habitation, then My Documents, MyLib, click on the program file you want, tab over to the part with the equations and only hit enter on one of them?  information technology will tell me "Variable is non defined"

Could it be that the programs were written for much older OSes and tin can no longer exist opened on newer ones or vice-versa? What Bone do yous have? According to the file, it is recent then it was most probable written for OS 3.ii.

No, I as well believe the effect hither is that you have a not-cas device while the program requires the CAS engine.

I am upgraded to the latest Bone on my TI-nspire.  If I render this calc to Amazon and just buy a CAS at Walmart (although I think Amazon still might accept the best price: $65 final fourth dimension I checked), will it thing that I have already used the codes and ordered the gratis TI-84 pad, etc?

Which generation is this? Clickpad, Touchpad, or CX? If y'all accept a Clickpad or Touchpad, you can just install the CAS version of the operating system on your current figurer using nLaunch.

does it matter CAS vs CX CAS?

The CX has a color screen. The Touchpad has a grayscale screen. I don't think it will be sane to run.
As well, CX OSes are RSA 2048 signed, versus Touchpad&Clickpad OSes that use RSA 1024.
Finally, CX and Clickpad&Touchpad use dissimilar retention chips & stuff, not actually a good thought to run a CX Os on a non CX ane.

@Levak ; not really a skilful idea?  because I am a poor higher student who really needs his calculator to exercise laplace and inverse laplace for exams, which cannot be done without this OS.  I will try it anyway before having to pay an extra $lxxx+ just to run this simple plan.  Hopefully it will not mess up the calculator earlier I return it if this does non work

@Levak ; not really a skillful thought?  because I am a poor higher student who really needs his calculator to do laplace and inverse laplace for exams, which cannot be washed without this Bone.  I will try it anyway before having to pay an extra $80+ simply to run this unproblematic programme.  Hopefully it will not mess up the calculator earlier I return it if this does non work

By not really a good idea, he means information technology won't work at all. The CX and non-CX take unlike hardware, which means different retention addresses and such then the OSes are incompatible. But practice go ahead and try nLaunch, and make sure to install the CAS non-CX Bone. Hither's a link to the correct OS: http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=3720

I take downloaded the file, converted it with TNOC, merely Ti-nspire Computer Link will not let me put the Bone file on my calculator because it says that information technology's the wrong handheld blazon for the file; also that TI-planet will not translate any pages into English and information technology'south confusing to navigate

Did you lot wait at the readme for nLaunch? You have to rename the OS file to phoenix.tns and transport it as a document to the calculator, so send a different, glitched Os file that starts the installation process.
